By design. Discover and Map work for guests, but saving places, lists, hybrid search near you, ratings, reports, and contributions require a free account. Disabled controls mean “sign in to use this,” not that the app is broken.
Yes. Creating a Play Spotter account is free. Paid features, if any, are limited to advertising for businesses. Families using the directory do not need a subscription.
Guests see play places we have already gathered in a wide radius. After you create a free account and sign in, we can run fuller hybrid discovery and load more listings near your location.
Both work. The website supports Discover, Map, place details, and account tools in the menu. The Android app adds offline friendly extras; either way, sign in with the same free account for full features.
